Harnessing the sun, powering a brighter future

GVN SolarPower Inc., is an independent Research and Development (R&D) company in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Our mission is to commercialize highly-efficient and low-cost solar cells for the economic growth and social benefits of Canada.

Solar panel production cost is the main barrier preventing to achieve grid parity, i.e., cost of PV produced power is not on par with grid power.

We are interested in (i) third generation solar cells, (ii) reducing production cost while maintaining high efficiency in the second- and first-generation solar cells by using new concepts, and (iii) tuning material properties through material characterization for solar cell and other electronic device applications.

Our experts are from various universities and institutions from Canada, US, UK, Germany, Italy, South Korea, India, and Denmark.

We have state-of-the-art material deposition, device fabrication and characterization facilities. Link: https://nanofab.uwo.ca/equipment/

Our Current R&D Involves
(but not limited to)

1. Maintaining high-efficiency and lowering production cost of various solar technologies, viz.

2. Material deposition, characterization, and tuning material properties suitable for energy (solar cell), electronic device, and device integration applications.
